Final Exam

ATTENTION regarding KANUN OR QANUN:
On your listening annotations it states that the kanun/qanun is a hammered dulcimer. This is incorrect: it is a PLUCKED instrument.

Good luck studying for your final exam. It will take place on Monday, June 11, 2007 from 6:30pm-9:30pm in our classroom. There are 10 listening examples on the test, and about 60 questions total. The format and types of questions are exactly the same as the midterm. Go through this blog as a study guide, and carefully review your listening examples. Review your notes on the student presentations (there are links week by week), especially ones that touched on concepts or music we covered in class. Also, review your notes on the films we saw. Email me with questions up until Monday 1pm, and if I think your question is one that the whole class should know, I'll post it here by then.

**ALL OF THE LISTENING EXAMPLES ARE IN THE RESERVES--THEY ARE NOT IN ORDER; 2 OF THE LATIN AMERICAN LISTENING EXAMPLES ARE UNDER THE "EXCURSIONS" LIST**

African Ecuadorian music: (note use of marimba, an African instrument)
